Talent

  • Siblings Evrim and Evin Dogu - the founders and creative force behind this wood-fired paradise were born to Turkish immigrants in Baton Rouge and grew up in Northern Virginia, where their father operated a restaurant.  Evrim and Evin's household emphasized the Turkish tradition of welcoming hospiitality and all the accoutrments that go along with it.  They participated in the preparations and hosting of guests and they learned to sit at the table every night for dinner - without the TV.  And there was always bread with dinner.  The brother and sister team took their formative knowledge of bread proofing and fermentation and learned to pair that with old world baking techniques using a wood-fired pizza oven in their parents restaurant.  Eventually, the Dogu's went off on their own, opened Sub Rosa Bakery in Richmond in 2012 and starting working directly with farmers who grow heirloom varieties of wheat, rye, and corn, which is stone-milled in-house and incorporated into the shop's breads, pastries and other products.

  • Wines will come from Virginia and the Loire Valley.  Further details on the wines and menu coming soon.
