Special Privileges for Highly Qualified Members of the Trade


The Virginia Wine Expo presented by Publix (VWE) welcomes highly qualified members of the trade. You’ll have the opportunity to sample hundreds of Virginia, Bordeaux + Loire Valley and Washington State wines curated by our wine experts specifically for this event. Since tickets to the Walk-Around Grand Tastings will be restricted to avoid overcrowding, each session will have a limited number of tickets available to the trade. Decisions regarding admission will be made by the Executive Director, Alex Papajohn.

You must be directly involved in the purchase, distribution, marketing, or sale of wine for an establishment on a full-time basis to qualify as a member of the trade. In addition, all of the required fields in the trade registration form must be filled out. If a required field is left blank or incorrectly filled out, your registration will not be accepted. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Please let Mr. Papajohn know whether you want to attend the Saturday or Sunday Walk-Around Grand Tasting session.  Please list your second choice session as well.  NOTE: If you choose Saturday, please indicate whether you want to attend the Afternoon or Evening session.

If your registration is accepted, then you will be informed as to which session you will be permitted to enter. The trade hours for the three Walk-Around Grand Tastings are as follows:

Saturday, March 7, 2020   

12:00 A.M. – 4:30 P.M.   VIP/Early Afternoon Walk-Around Grand Tasting

6:00 P.M. - 10:00 P.M.   VIP/Early Evening Walk-Around Grand Tasting

Sunday, March 8, 2020

12:00 P.M. – 4:30 P.M.   VIP Walk-Around Grand Tasting Locals Sunday Special

How to Apply for Registration as a Trade Professional

Please e-mail Alex Papajohn at apapajohn@VariantEvents.com with the information below.  Mr. Papajohn will respond with a decision within a week of receipt of the request.

  • Name and address of your place of business
  • Your title and responsibilities
  • You must include the license number (tax identification) of your establishment in order to register.
  • Your request will be reviewed and then you will be notified if it is accepted.
  • If accepted you must bring proper identification to the show along with proof of your affiliation with the establishment that you list on your application.
  • All badges are non-transferable.
