An Adventurous Night of Sublime Oyster & Shellfish Dishes 

Celebrate the extraordinary versatility and sublime flavors of Virginia oysters and other shellfish at this briny feast, featuring a medley of oys-terrific and shellfish-centric dishes, and more paired with a curated selection of fine wine, Scotch, rum, and cocktails.   

From traditional to modern to fusion, this event takes you on a remarkable culinary journey, exploring how oysters and other shellfish can be integrated into a diverse array of recipes that will satisfy those with a curious and adventurous palate.

The delicious cuisine you'll enjoy deserves to be washed down with a wide range of first class beverages, selected to pair well with the food and reflective of the many types of drinks that go well with seafood.

We're devoted to properly educating you about the drinks you taste, which is why we insist that every beverage at Oyster Eat is poured by knowledgeable representatives - whether they be winemakers, distillers, mixologists, distributor representatives, proprietors, or experienced volunteers - capable of explaining about the drinks they are serving you.

Foodies and wine, scotch, rum and cocktail enthusiasts will thoroughly enjoy this event.

We're excited to share that Everyday Gourmet, Mosaic, and Steamboat Oysters, among other artisan food purveyors, have agreed to participate in Oyster Eat!  More restaurant partners will be posted soon.

Tentative Menu as of 2/1/2024 (More Coming Soon)*

  • Freshly shucked oysters from STEAMBOAT WHARF OYSTER CO., harvested the morning of Oyster Eat from Morattico, Va
  • Scallop ceviche shooter
  • Smoked oyster spread on thin sliced cucumber
  • Shrimp bruschetta - crostini with balsamic reduction
  • Mini lobster rolls consisting of fresh, plump Maine lobster claw and knuckle meat dressed very lightly so the Main lobster meat cn shine
  • Ahi tuna wonton
  • Grilled oysters on the half shell grilled with:
    • lemon dill butter
    • butter cilantro, garlic, shallots, and siracha
    • fennel butter
  • Aquachile scallop on the half shell - sashimi grade scallop on the half shell quic-cured in lime juice and topped with cilanto-chile salsa, cucumber, pickled shallot, avocado and baby heirloom tomato
  • Smoked oyster mini po boy - house smoked oysters in a petite hoagie roll with crispy fried onions, remoulade, tomato relish and micro celery
  • Mini seafood boil - shrimp, crawfish, baby corn, fingerling potato, and Surry sausage in a spiced broth
  • Oysters Rockefeller Spoon Bread - plump oysters baked into a classic spoon bread with spinach, fennel, onion, celery corn kernels and parmesan served topped with bacon jam
  • Seafood sausage cassoulet - house-made seafood sausage of shrimp, scallop, crab and veggies in a cozy and aromatic bean an mushroom stew
  • Oyster mushroom quiche - oysters, oyster mushroom, spinach, goat cheese and red onion baked into a mini quiche.  Petit wedges served with salsa crude and crispy pancetta

This event can be purchased a la carte or as part of three discounted ticket bundles, ‘Oyster Grand’, ‘VIP Trio’, and 'SUPER PASS', which you can check out on the Ticket Packages page.  Alternatively, to curate your own experience, you can buy tickets to this event using our “build your own package” and save 15% on 3 events or save 20% on 4.

With Your Ticket, You Will:

  • Feast on a delicious selection of inventive oyster and shellfish dishes, pescatarian charcuterie and more, with complementary side dishes and artisan desserts.
     
  • Taste 30+ of highly-regarded wines, Scotch, rum, and cocktails.
     
  • Receive and keep a beautiful Stolzle Crystal Wine Glass 
     
  • Be able to use the complimentary coat check.
     
  • Be provided with free artisanal water throughout the tasting.
     
  • Be able to use tables, chairs and cocktail rounds throughout the exhibit hall.

Important Information

  • All beverage tables (excluding complimentary water) will end tastings at 9:15 p.m., fifteen minutes before the end of the event.  
  • Only 21 years or older are permitted to enter the event.
  • Smart casual or smart chic attire recommended.
  • All inclusive.
  • Cost of admission is $3.  The remaining costs cover the privilege to consume sampled food and drinks (excluding complimentary water) and the crystal wine glass.
