About the Owners and Chef

Eric Hess and Marianne Trak Hess, the heart behind Lola's Farmhouse, bring passion, experience, and a deep love for their community to every plate served. 

Married right here on the property they now own, the couple took over the restaurant in 2025, fulfilling a dream rooted in shared history and courage. Marianne grew up in restaurants most notably The Grapevine Restaurant where she grew her passion for hospitality as a bartender and manager. Eric is a Virginia Tech Mechanical Engineering and VCU Operations Research graduate. He began working in restaurants during graduate school at VCU and became passionate about hospitality. Eric was a long time bartender right down the street at Hermitage Country Club. It was at
The Grapevine that the two met and inspired one another to go after their dream of entrepreneurship.
