Chefs/Owners Biographies

Chefs Patrick Phelan and Megan Fitzroy-Phelan own Lost Letter and Lillian, two full-service restaurants in the Scott's Addition neighborhood in Richmond, VA. Their restaurants combine excellence in the ordinary with spectacular service, outstanding beverage programs, and ever-changing seasonal menus that have been recognized at home and nationally. Lost Letter, an Italian restaurant rooted in Northern Italy's traditions with some modern surprises, opened in early 2023 and quickly became one of Richmond's top dining destinations. Lillian, a seafood-centric restaurant with a raw bar and a full diner menu, opened in January 2024. Named after the Phelan's daughter, Lillian is a place where hospitality, the feeling of welcome, and the blending of the familiar and new are realized through the seasons, ingredients, and the people who prepare them. The restaurant introduces a relaxed counter service offering the best of both worlds - a casual setting coupled with the finesse of fine dining.
